About

From complex data flows to trusted information.

Building on more than 15 years of enterprise IT experience, I work as an Oracle DWH Developer. A 13+ year IT operations background and 5+ years of Oracle DWH development experience together provide the systems mindset I use when working on SQL-based data processing, data publishing and ETL/ELT-style workflows.

Professional summary

About

As an Oracle Data Warehouse developer, I work on enterprise data processing, data publication and reporting data sources. My work is built around target structures based on existing DWH layers, Oracle SQL-based transformations, loading logic, validations and documented data flows.

My earlier IT operations background gave me a systems-oriented mindset, troubleshooting routine and a service-focused approach. Today I apply this experience primarily in Oracle DWH, SQL, ETL/ELT-style and data-quality tasks while deepening my PL/SQL and modern data engineering knowledge in a targeted way.

Oracle DWH

Oracle DWH development experience at a glance

The following points summarize the strongest work-experience-based elements of my current professional profile.

  • Enterprise data-flow development. Development and maintenance of Oracle database-based data processing, data publication and system-to-system data service processes.
  • Technical design and target structures. Technical design of data flows, creation of target structures aligned with existing data warehouse layers, and adaptation of existing business logic to new data models.
  • Loading logic and process handling. Development of incremental and full reload processes, logic for historical and current-state data, and participation in designing loading chains, organizing them into process flows and supporting their parallel operation.
  • Performance and optimization. Investigation of performance issues in data flows that process large data volumes, and participation in designing and implementing optimization solutions.
  • Validation and troubleshooting. Source-to-target validations, control totals, duplicate and data-difference checks, analysis of failed loads and tracing reporting issues back to source data and loading processes.
DWH details

More detailed DWH responsibilities

Behind the short overview are practical development and collaboration tasks that directly support everyday DWH work.

PL/SQL components

Reading, modifying and adapting existing PL/SQL components, and creating smaller PL/SQL packages, procedures and functions for data processing, server-side file generation and system-to-system data service tasks.

System-to-system data transfer

Development of PL/SQL-based data transfer components within an existing enterprise interface framework: SELECT-based extraction, cursor-based processing, XML data transfer through a shared interface function, and receiving and storing returned acknowledgement data.

Knowledge sharing

Onboarding new and existing colleagues, providing regular professional support, and sharing knowledge during Oracle DWH, SQL and data-flow development tasks.

Workflow

How I work

  • Understand the need. I first clarify the source, the business goal and the path of the data.
  • Design the solution. The goal is a maintainable and verifiable process that fits into the existing environment.
  • Build and validate. SQL-based development, checking, troubleshooting and documentation are part of the workflow.
Values

Working values

  • Data quality. The result should be verifiable, reproducible and useful for business purposes.
  • Simplicity. I prefer clear and maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.
  • Ownership. A task should not only be completed; it should be left in a working, verifiable and handover-ready state.
